The bottom hinged hopper intake door is recommended for all rubbish chutes and is sometimes used for loose linen chutes. Our standard bottom hinged hopper door unit is fabricated of AISI type 302/304 stainless steel with a standard finish or number 3 directional polish. Our stainless steel trim is installed around the framed opening of the wall for each intake door. The trim piece running across the top of the intake door is embossed with a name specifying the usage of the chute. V type hopper intakes can be furnished to restrict the size of material loaded into the chute. Long or oversize objects may clog offsets or jam the takeaway system at the base of the chute. An extension out from the bottom of the door parallel to the chute throat forms a V with the door back. This extension rotates up to block the throat as the door is opened and limits charged material to the mount that the V will hold.

For the convenience of our customer, TrashMasters, Inc. with Wilkinson Chutes, offers an optional foot or push button operated hopper type intake door. With foot operation or push button, each unlatches and then opens the door leaving both hands free for loading.

Our door bears 1-1/2 H.R. 250 degree F. U.L. "B" label. It is available in sizes from 12" x 15" up to 24" x 24" for masonry or drywall applications.
The side hinged intake door is recommended for all chutes handling bagged or bundled linen. Our standard sized hinged door unit is fabricated of AISI type 302/304 stainless steel with a standard satin finish or no. 3 directional polish. Our stainless steel trim is installed around the framed opening of the wall for each intake door. The trim piece running across the top of the intake door is embossed with a name specifying the usage of the chute. The door can be opened a full 180 degrees, giving enough space to deposit larger bags if needed. The clear opening into the chute with the door open a full 180 degrees, is equal to the nominal size of the door. The door is furnished hinged on the right side when facing the door, but can be furnished opposite hand if required.

Our door bears 1-1/2 H.R. 250 degree F. U.L. "B" label. It is available in sizes from 12" x 15" up to 24" x 24" for masonry or drywall applications.
All intake doors have a self-closing mechanism that is spring actuated with a hydraulic check to restrict the closing speed. The mechanism is arranged in such a way that the pull required to manually open the door does not build up as the door approaches the full open position. The hydraulic check restricts the closing action to an even rate in which the door does not bounce, hang up or slam shut.
On the side hinged doors the hydraulic closure is located at the upper-most hinged corner to minimize obstruction and allow easy access for replacement.
On the bottom hinged hopper, anti-friction bearings are installed at all wear points of the mechanism to insure reliable use. The closing mechanism, contained within an easily accessible mechanism box located along the side of the door, allows for a clear throat opening and is not exposed to the material being placed in the chute.
Doors bearing an Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. Class "B" label have been sample tested and inspected by Underwriters. Wilkinson doors bearing a U.L. Inc. label carry the following rating: "1 1/2 Hr. 'B' temp. rise 30 min. 250 degrees F. Max." which indicates a temperature of under 250 degrees F, was reached on the exposed face of the door at the end of 30 minutes of the U.L. test. All door sizes listed are available bearing U.L. Class "B" label and are available for masonry or drywall application.
Here at TrashMasters, Inc. we carry only the best products and equipment when it comes to waste removal solutions. We are happy to say that our company installs and distributes only Wilkinson Chutes ®. These chutes are some of the best in the industry and have set the standard for over 80 years in chute design. Although we can repair any brand chute, we install only Wilkinson Chutes ® in all new construction, renovation and replacement. You will not be disappointed for years to come with a Wilkinson Chute ® door, shaft, and waste removal system.
Our STAINLESS STEEL faced U.L. "B" labeled doors are factory assembled and installed with slotted mounting holes to provide on-site adjustment if necessary.
STAINLESS STEEL trim, STANDARD WITH WILKINSON CHUTES, provides a quality finished look and conceals the structural frame and any wall imperfections.
All bottom hinged intake doors include a steel shaft passing through friction-free bearings to provide years of smooth opening and closing without build-up from debris.
Corrugated steel wall anchors (as shown) adjust to the courses of the surrounding masonry OR welded drywall mounting brackets. This completes "B" labeled construction requirements - for your specific application.
STANDARD on all Wilkinson Chutes, automatic sprinklers are mounted on the top of the intake throat at the highest intake section and every alternating floor below. Sprinklers can be easily maintained through the door opening by removal of the spray shield protecting it.
For over 30 years we have installed only the best Chutes on the market. Here at TrashMasters, Inc., we are proud to carry the Wilkinson Chute ®.
This "two-slope design" connecting
the intake door to the chute allows for
maximum in-flow of material and minimal
damage from impact and deflection.
